I installed the Cat5e cable it’s 3-feet long. I don’t have any Cat6 cables, but I found a Cat5e cable. However, in reality, it was a Cat5 cable 6-feet long. thought the Ethernet cable going from the router to the computer was a Cat6 cable. SmartByte software is not, and has never been, installed on the computer. The Ethernet cable between the router and computer is 6-feet long. However, a Ookla speed test on the hard-wired computer is running at 97 Mbps down. Wi-Fi emitted by the router is running at 186 Mbps down (per Ookla speed test on Android phone). With the speed increase, my Xfinity router is now receiving 188 Mbps down (per the Xfinity technician’s onscreen data). Why? Because Xfinity recently increased my speed. To get my Ethernet Network Adapter to run faster, what do I need to do? Speed of Ethernet to Desktop: 9 ms ping 97 Mbps down (per Speedtest by Ookla web page ). Speed of Wi-Fi to Android Phone: 186 Mbps down (per Speedtest by Ookla app). Speed of Coaxial Cable to Xfinity Modem: 188 Mbps down (per data displayed by Xfinity service technician).
